Sunday 16th June 2013 – Pentecost 4C (3)

Welcoming Lord,

You throw wide the door

and lay a place

for all who would wish

to sit in Your presence,

and You leave the spaces

for those You long

to draw within Your care.

Your love is taught

in word and action,

in sound, touch and fragrance.

In Your care

we find forgiveness.

You have watched the creation

as it divides the strong from the weak,

the popular from the vulnerable.

You listen to the words

of harsh criticism.

In the invitation to sit with You

we find ourselves forgiven,

and forgiven with purpose.

For we too must learn to love

in Christ’s name,

and welcome others to the places

we live and work.
