After a few weeks of being out of action because of flu, I was planning an easy return to worship. Unfortunately I’ve broken my right elbow, so will be dictating a sermon to my computer for tomorrow. There are a couple of good prayers on re:Worship this week, so I have adapted a prayer for our enemies to be the Prayers of the People. I’ve written a call to worship based on Psalm 37.
Leave the worry and threat at the door of our worship,
forgetting the envy and wrong
that has touched us in our walking.
Let us remember
that time is moving
and the colour and passion of a moment
will soon fade,
and die away.
May we trust in God,
who invites us to delight in all that is created.
For God brings grace and hope in times of trouble,
and leads us away from hurt to take refuge
in God’s eternal presence.
Let us worship God…
